On an exterior door that matters, the higher-value change is almost always a reinforced strike anchored into the framing stud rather than a more expensive lock body.
Can Kwikset locks be rekeyed?
In nearly all cases, yes — rekeying re-pins the cylinder you already own and is far cheaper than replacement. If the locks share a keyway they can also be keyed alike so one key covers several doors.
